In their ultimate performance of 2012, The PepTides will transform Ottawa’s cosiest blues joint, Irene’s Pub, into a sizzling frenzy of soul, silk, funk… and fur. The intimate evening will kick off at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, with the high-energy stylings of openers The Pelts.
After the mandatory pelting, The PepTides will pep you up by pulling you into the far reaches of musical ecstasy with their opulent harmonies, stratospheric guitar solos, and sultry ballads.

September 27th, 2012 - The PepTides to release Vinyl Cafe EP on October 13
The PepTides, Ottawa’s beloved 9-member retro pop band, will be featured on CBC Radio’s hit show Vinyl Cafe in celebration of their brand new EP based on Revenge of the Vinyl Cafe, Stuart McLean’s latest book. Set against the backdrop of ordinary Canadian family life, Stuart McLean’s familiar cast of characters end up in comically absurd scenarios that, in those poignant last few paragraphs of each story, ultimately reveal themselves as celebrations of the human spirit. This unique co-production features eight fresh new PepTides songs inspired by McLean’s colourful tales. An anthology of Dave and Morley stories with its own original soundtrack? Well, now you’ve heard everything.
The songs will be featured on an upcoming episode of the Vinyl Cafe. Tune in at any of the following times:
9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13 (CBC Radio 2)
12:00 noon on Sunday, October 14 (CBC Radio 1)
11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16 (CBC Radio 1)
The show will also be available as a podcast from iTunes or from www.cbc.ca/podcasting as of October 13. All listeners are invited to vote on their favourite tune to become the official theme song of the Revenge of the Vinyl Cafe book. Just make your way to the Vinyl Cafe website to vote.
